more art spam from 2019, sketchbook #3

Based on the bleed-thru to the other side, this has to be alcohol markers, but based on how streaky it is, I must have been using up markers that were nearly empty. I think this was the end of that cheap set of markers that I didn't like. I'm not sure why I even bothered to take a picture of this. (I really need to stop taking pictures of every single page, which I swear I'm not doing... but, yeah, probably 90% and not many of the pages are worth it.)

I also found more chibis:

Chibis are clearly not my specialty and I'm not motivated enough to try a re-draw like I did for the Captain America chibi. These were for a fan gift prompt where the recipient requested Bofur/Kili. This also resulted in a triple-drabble (is that a thing?) and some photo-manip digital art:

This pairing would not have occurred to me on my own, but I think it turned out cute.

And then there was this. This is the point in sketchbook #3 where you can see my "style" shaping up. Less copying and more original ideas.

The second one with a black background is a digital edit, but it looked so much better that I just now went back and started coloring in the background of the original. (I have more black markers that I need and don't mind sacrificing one to filler. I think I was being more precious with my black markers back in 2019. "Back in 2019" ... why does that feel like twenty years ago?)
