organization
I have a bunch of art posted to my old journal and I thought I should link it here so I have everything accessible in one place. Except here, I've gotten much more organized about labelling sketchbooks and there not so much.
I apparently didn't post any photographs of sketchbook #8 and only posted a Vimeo video that I can't seem to get to play. (I have no idea if I still have the original file anyway to attempt to upload it anywhere else.)
Sketchbook #7 appears to be spiral bound and I dimly recall it being a small-ish size, but I don't remember the brand or details. (That might have been another of my bargain Target finds.)
And that's when I decided to dig out my old sketchbooks to look these things up and maybe take pictures ... and that's when I discovered that I have no idea where any of my old sketchbooks are.
Anyway, I'll get around to linking art later. Just making the list was more work than I expected.
And short of massively cleaning my entire room, I just thought of one more place the sketchbooks might be. Off to go look...
EDIT: FOUND THEM! I'll post an updated version of this list soon. By the way is it "master list" or "masterlist". I googled and the Internet seems evenly split, while my spellchecker doesn't like it as one word. Opinions?

- sketchbook:
- I think this was a crappy spiral sketchbook that I didn't actually finish, maybe?, but it was older than sketchbook #1, so that's why I retroactively named it "zero".
- This was the first sketchbook that I ever finished. I was so proud of it. Some of it is actually pretty decent even. (Is that bad? I feel like I haven't progressed like I should if I still like some of these.)
- Um... spiral bound at the top (I can tell from some of the pictures) so I think this was one of the designed for colored-pencils sketchbooks.
- I'm pretty sure this was the Blick hard bound sketchbook.
- ???
- Um ... I think this was the one that pissed me off because the paper was weird.
- ????
- ?? spiral bound

- Copic, spiral bound, small. This was specifically designed for markers and yet I did not like how it handled markers. Very weird.
- Blick, spiral bound, 9in x 12 in, 65 lb (98 gsm) weight. Hated the spiral binding (the pages snag when you're trying to flip through it) but otherwise this was a solid sketchbook that was not designed for wet media but held up well under being abused with watercolors. (completed: 2021 November to 2023 June)
- Crescent Rendr, soft cover, very small. I loved that the marker didn't bleed through the pages (worked much, much better than the Copic marker sketchbook), but I hated the tight binding that made it nearly impossible to open the pages up all the way (more infuriating because it was advertised as a "lay flat" design and it didn't even open flat under pressure).
- Talens Art Creations, hard bound, 4-1/2 in x 4-1/2 in. This opens up nice and flat so if you want to draw across the fold, you can do a 4-1/2 in x 9 in drawing. I love this sketchbook. The only reason it isn't completely full is that because of the size, I consider this my "travel" sketchbook and I try to save it for when I'm away from home. (IN PROCESS)
- Strathmore, spiral bound, 6 in x 8 in, 100 lb (163 gsm) weight, advertised for colored pencil. I'm not sure why I haven't done more with this (only a few pages filled in so far despite starting it in September of 2022). (IN PROCESS)
- Crescent, Rendr, soft cover, 8 in x 11 in. Has the nifty paper that works so well with markers (no bleed through at all), but I hate the floppy soft cover. (IN PROCESS)
- Mondo Llama, 8-1/2" by 11". I don't see the weight listed anywhere, but it feels similar to the 65-lb one from Blick. Bonus, I got this at Target for $10 and it's also the most pages of any of my sketchbooks. This is gonna take a while to fill up.(IN PROCESS)
