memo to self: what's the deadline again?
Jul. 1st, 2023 09:25 pmSo, in a fit of optimism last night, I signed up for a fan thing where I have to draw fanart for someone's in-progress story. And I lucked out because you sign up based on the summary and they send you snippets from the story after you've claimed the story. So it's a bit of a dice roll.
And the snippets were actually really good, so that's an immediate relief. (Quickly followed by the, "Aw, crap, now the art has to be good, too.")
(I think I've signed up for this same project twice a few years back and both of my authors defaulted and never posted. (Edit: I just looked it up and one of them finally posted a year later so I've poked them to see if they still want the art.))
If I'm reading this right, the deadline is early August. So ... plenty of time and yet, also plenty of time to put it off and forget about it. Hence, making a post for accountability.
