Been watching iZombie lately. I think I'm close to the final season.

It's not a good show, but I'm totally hooked. I'd been sort of hoping it would serve as mindless fluff but it turned out to be a lot darker than I expected despite the campiness. And parts of it did not age well at all. Such as when a "SARS-like virus" spreads through Seattle and everyone lines up for vaccines and there are hints of a conspiracy (and I was already "Oh, shit, no" at that point) and then, sure enough, the vaccine was engineered to turn everyone who got a shot into a zombie. The episode I just watched had a character coughing and when someone commented about him not getting his flu shot, he said, "Hell, no. I don't want to end up a werewolf or something." Oy. But also it just generally has the vibe of a show made decades earlier (which is part of the joke; it's a classic whodunit cop show but with zombies) and occasionally has the cringe moments that go with that.
I'm enjoying it, flaws and all, though. Probably because I grew up on so many of those shows when they were done unironically.
I haven't done much art this summer, so this is my attempt at limbering up my art skills. Like the show, it is also not "good" exactly, but it still sort of amused me and I'm hoping to start filling up pages in my sketchbook again.
