Both drawings in #1 were direct copies of a how-to-draw video. And then I got obsessed trying to draw a cute Captain America saluting and I never figured how to have a character with a disproportionately large head salute without it looking off. (#5 and #6 were illustrations for fanfic.)

I'm not happy with any of the Captain Americas (Captains America? How do you pluralize that?) and while the Iron Man and Hulk are cute, they are just copies of someone else's work. So I'm tempted to poke at this concept again just to see if I can come up with something better now.

It's a good idea to go back to something after a gap and see if you've moved on - an interesting exercise!

Here's my current attempt at this one.


I'm not quite happy enough with it to bother coloring it in. A bit too stiff, somehow not "cute" enough. But I like it more than the ones where I felt all I was doing was copying. I think I want to make him even stubbier and go for a 2-head height version.
