Mermaid

Every month when the new drawesome prompt comes out, I imagine myself spending the whole month doing a ton of sketches and the next thing I know it's the end of the month and I haven't done anything since the initial "practice" drawaing.

I liked the idea of a menacing mermaid and really meant to do more with this, but...

This started out all in marker (and the mermaid is all marker with perhaps a little colored pencil, I don't remember) but I just gave up on the background and slapped a digital filter on it.

I love that rich orange you've used - and the background is so pretty (doesn't matter that it's digital, it fits perfectly!)

Thank you! I've developed an appreciation for orange. I used to hate it when I was a kid (associated with construction signs and laundry detergent boxes, etc) but now I'm finding it to be a really striking contrast color that goes with a lot of other things.
